Our Intense Pulsed Light Photo-facial is an instant way to improve the texture and tone of your skin. Using medical-grade equipment, the healing light energy is gently transferred to the skin penetrating the deeper dermal tissues. Here the intense light helps to promote the regeneration of the skin, improving texture, and assisting with the formation of new collagen and elastin. The light energy has a positive effect on fine lines, pigmentation marks are lightened and the completion is left smoother, plumped and more youthful.
How does IPL work?
The self-healing power of the skin is harnessed with the delivery of intense pulsed light. New collagen and elastin fibres are laid down and the skin is thickened. Fresh collagen gives the skin a firm healthy appearance and elastin fibres improve the elasticity of the skin. IPL is proven to roll back some of the visible signs of ageing, it does this, not only by thickening and plumping the skin, but also by reducing pigmentation and addressing redness and spider veins.
Collagen and Elastin.
New elastin fibres and collagen are always laid down in regular straight bundles instead of the irregular undulating bundles associated with ageing skin. This may sound a little scientific, but elastin and collagen are the largest components of the dermis they form the bulk of your skin, which makes new collagen and elastin a big deal. Harnessing the body’s natural way of regenerating and remodelling the skin. Leading to a thickening of the dermis and reduction in the appearance of fine lines.
The effect is a subtle lifting, plumping, and gentle tightening of the skin. Added to improved texture and reduction in pigmentation, redness and spider veins.
Results are cumulative.
The benefit of your treatment can be noticed within a week, however the full benefit is achieved in 3 to 6 months. A series of 4 – 6 treatments is recommended at one month intervals, which can be repeated annually for optimum, ongoing results.
A study by Stanford University spanning 10 years shows IPL therapy repairs signs of ageing on a molecular level. But even more exciting, is that it showed to prevent future signs of ageing as well. The study used 2 to 3 IPL treatments per year, and research participants saw a transformation in their skin to resemble much younger looking skin.
