What is Triad Clustered Diode Laser Hair Removal?

The Triad Clustered Diode Laser combines the newest cutting-edge technology with 3 laser frequencies and the benefits of the pulsating light method achieving practically painless results. Triad Clustered Diode Laser represents a breakthrough in permanent hair removal with light technology. What is the difference between Triad Clustered Diode Laser and IPL?

Traditional laser or IPL technologies employ short impulses, applying a vast amount of energy from 12-120 Joules on one square centimetre. Even with “ICE” cooling techniques this remains the underlying treatment premise. Using IPL and traditional lasers heats the tissue to 65-72° Celsius, this presents a risk which is greater for darker skin types.

Research has shown that a slower, longer heating process is considerably more effective for permanent hair removal than high and short levels of energy. Not to mention more comfortable!

With Triad Clustered Diode Laser, the device is passed over the tissue several times (in motion) using low energy but a high rate of repetition up to 15 flashes per second, instead of using the traditional method with single, high-energy impulses. Thus, the hair pigment, as well as the tissue of the stem cells, are heated with low energy over a longer period of time.

We are able to choose the wavelength to suit your skin and hair type, and combine these in a single treatment for optimum results. Blending the light combination expertly within pre-set safety parameters, to target your unique need.

The triple wavelengths we use are 755nm, known as “Alex” and often touted to be the best for hair removal, 808nm near infra-red laser, and 1064nm which penetrates to below the growing matrix of the hair bulb.

Each of these wavelengths has a specific strength, and each has some inherent weakness. 755 Alex is best for fair and fine hair, but it has the shallowest penetration and is not very effective on those darker course hairs.
808 is the classic wavelength for laser hair removal, and penetrates slightly deeper. It is a good middle road and works well on a dark hair, fair skin combination, but is in-effective on fine, fair hair.
1064 penetrates the most deeply, targeting the growing matrix of the hair bulb, and it is safest for darker skin types.

At the beginning of your treatment your hair will be the thickest, and as your sessions progress the remaining hair is finer and lighter. To use just one wavelength throughout your treatment, simply does not make any sense. The flexibility of being able to expertly adjust these wavelengths, contributes to optimal treatment for your skin and hair type. This means the quickest and most conclusive results are quite possible.
